Laminar Flow Hoods

BioLAF  Plus biohazard laminar flow hoods

Biohazard vertical laminar flow hood, class II A (if provided with the outlet exaust adapter fitting, Class A/B3). The hood is TÜV certified, according to UNI EN 12469. The cabinet has been projected for the global protection of the operator, the product and the environment.
The cabinet  Bio LAF is a vertical laminar flow  with partial air recycle (ca. 70%) through HEPA filter and partial air exaust (ca. 30%) of the treated air, through a second motor-fan and the HEPA filter, with protective air curtain for the operator through the entrance on the front opening, without crossing the working plain thus avoiding the contamination of the product.

VFLAF  and VFLAF  Plus vertical laminar flow hoods

Sterile Laminar flow hood in Class I not Biohazard designed for the protection of both operator and product. The flow activa hood is suitable for the handling of low biological risk pathogens (cat 1 e 2). The cabinet Flow Activa is a vertical laminar flow  with partial air recycle (ca. 70%) through HEPA filter and partial air exaust (ca. 30%) of the treated air, with protective air curtain for the operator through the entrance on the front opening, without crossing the working plain thus avoiding the contamination of the product.

VFLAF Plus models are Class II A sterile laminar flow hoods (Class A/B3 if equipped with optional motor-fan and exhaust external adapter) designed for the operator, environment and product protection. The cabinet Flow Activa plus is a vertical laminar flow  with partial air recycle (ca. 70%) through HEPA filter and partial air exaust (ca. 30%) through HEPA filter.

Horizontal laminar flow hood, Class I not Biohazard.  The horizontal air stream, directed towards the operator, is obtained through an HEPA filter, ensuring class 100 sterile conditions in the working room.

THREE, Class III biohazard laminar flow hoods


The cabinet has been designed with a working area which is hermetically sealed to guarantee the highest level of personal protection by biological risk. The incoming air is crossing an HEPA filter and then is exhausted totally through a double layer of serial ULPA filters. The airflow is guaranteed by a particular suction system which maintains negative pressure (about 124,5 Pa) inside the cabinet. The access to the working area is guaranteed by latex sleeve gloves, which are installed and fixed, via a coupling flange, on the front window of the cabinet. The product, although handled in a sterile environment, is indeed subject to risk of contamination due to the turbulence of the airflow inside the working area. The presence of air turbulences does not suggest to use this cabinet in case it is necessary to preserve and guarantee the sterility of the product.
The ambient air enters, in horizontal laminar flow and in Class 100, from the lateral side of the cabinet after sterilization through absolute HEPA filter and crosses the stainless-steel working surface. The contaminated air, pulled by an external electric motor-fan on the cabinet upper part, in order to maintains negative pressure inside the working area, passes through two absolute ULPA filters. The clean air is now totally exhausted outside the building through a sealed pipe system. The exhaust air quantity has to be reintegrated in the ambient in order to avoid a depression that could prevent the proper functioning of the equipment. The temperate glass frontal panel and the latex gloves applied to it, together with the ULPA filters create the protection curtain that prevents the leak of contaminated aerosol through the user.
